Why we exist.

We understand that having a child with type 1 diabetes can feel overwhelming. At Camp Endres Junior, we believe in helping kids grow more confident and independent in managing their diabetes—so parents can feel more at ease, too. This independence makes everyday milestones like sleepovers, school events, and sports more accessible and less stressful.

Type 1 diabetes can often feel isolating—for both children and their families. That’s why Camp Endres is more than just a camp; it’s a place where friendships are formed, support is shared, and kids get to simply be kids.

Read below to hear from parents who have witnessed firsthand the power of Camp Endres Junior.

Jr Camp

What we do.

At Camp Endres Junior, we blend exciting activities with hands-on learning to help kids stay engaged while building confidence in managing type 1 diabetes. From games and crafts to team challenges and outdoor adventures, every day is filled with fun and discovery.

What makes our camp especially unique is our staff. Most of our counselors live with type 1 diabetes themselves, and those who don’t are deeply connected to the T1D community. Our dedicated medical team is always close by, carefully monitoring blood sugar levels so that playtime rarely needs to be interrupted.

This creates an environment where campers can feel “normal,” focus on friendships and fun, and experience life beyond the daily demands of T1D.

Campers who will be 13 in 2025 will have the option to attend Camp Endres Senior or Camp Endres Junior.

Please email the Camp Endres Camp Director, Cada Johnson, for more information or questions.

Megan Rose

Mother of 12 year old camper, Tate

"Within just a few minutes of picking him up from Camp Endres I knew he would always be a part of this group. He matured and flourished in that one week and we were so happy for him. It is too hard for me to put into words what Camp Endres means to us. It’s in the friendships Tate has made, the counselors he has to look up to, and the safety and love from the entire staff."
